Edible Mathematics Monday: HEAB Oatbran

For the next few weeks Curly Top will be feautring some Edible Mathematics collaborations with different bloggers--Eventually I'll put them all into a downloadable e-book.

Today's recipes are courtesy of my good friend Heather from Heather Eats Almond Butter. Her oat bran brilliance has impressed many and now you too can ace Breakfast 101!

2 cups water
2 TBSP chia seeds
1 scoop protein powder
Favorite toppings...which better include almond butter.

2. Green Oat Bran

1-2 handfuls of spinach
1/2 avocado
1 scoop protein powder
Topped with nut butter

3. Savory Oat Bran

1/2 cup oat bran
1 cup water
1-2 handfuls spinach (optional)
salt & pepper + favorite savory herbs to taste
Topped with cooked egg and cheese

4. Purple Veggielicious Oat Bran

5. Broccoli Oat Bran

1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1 scoop vanilla protein powder or 1 tsp vanilla
Sweetener to taste
Top with almond butter

9. Squash Infused Oat Bran

Make chia protein oats and blend in 5 ounces of steamed kabocha or butternut squash.

10. Classic Oat Bran

3/4 cup oat bran
1 1/2 cup water
Sweetener to taste
Top with 2 heaping spoonfuls of nut butter

Would you like to be featured in you own Edible Mathematics? Just shoot me a list of 10 combinations with 3-4 ingredients each (cauliflower oat bran, chia oat bran, spinach oat bran, etc...) by Friday. I'll choose a new submission each week and let you know the results.

With Love,

Emily

Does it have to be oatbran, or can it be a different "theme"?

I should eat more oat bran. I'm stuck on steel cut oats right now, but oat bran is tasty!

By the way, I FINALLY tried Pbu this morning in some oats with maple syrup and blueberries. OMG! It was amazing!!! I'm gonna post pics tonight on my blog. Thank you for that awesome idea!

I've tried oat bran once and hated it (my fault) but I'd LOVE to try some of these combos!

as AMAZING as all of those bowls of oat bran sound, i think the classic oat bran sounds the best. there's something so yummy about a simple but delicious bowl of oats (but i like to add fruit.)

although...blueberry cobbler oat bran DOES sound pretty incredible. oats are so versatile. they really are the greatest. another fantastic edible mathematics from you, emily! you're the best!

Emily! Hi gorgeous! I just wanted to let you know that I've been eating something PBU-inspired. I have no name for it other than almond butter-almond milk- pumpkin pie spice sauce, but it's incredible. Have a lovely night!

Are you even kidding me...you are the most awesome person I met today. Thanks for introducing yourself and for your very nice comment.

I really am tickled to have found you and want to get to know you better. Our food habits are quite similar so it is nice to find others that just get it.

I am adding you to my favorites right now.
